Low back pain. Afraid of pull-ups. Almost there.
Increased strength and endurance
Unassisted pull-up incoming
Low back pain
Ashley came to Alloy with low back pain and a goal to improve her overall strength and fitness. What she found was a lot more than a workout.
She'd worked with other trainers before and tried going it alone. Neither had given her what she needed: programming that progressed intelligently, coaching that explained the why behind the movement, and a community that made her want to come back.
She shows up with a positive attitude and, notably, excellent taste in music, something the coaches appreciate more than they probably let on. What's stood out most in her journey is a specific shift in confidence: Ashley was genuinely afraid to try the assisted pull-up bar when she first started. Today, she's close to completing an unassisted pull-up.
Her strength and endurance have increased dramatically. Her body composition has changed in ways her family and coworkers have commented on. And she moves without the low back pain that used to be a constant companion.
Ashley's story is a good reminder that the right progressions, taught by coaches who actually understand movement, can unlock things you didn't think your body could do. She's not done yet, and the pull-up is coming.
