Pull-up - a moment to remember
Back squats and bench press
Rob is the mayor of Alloy Bull Creek. He's been that way since his first week.
He came in as a retired dad of four, dealing with a fractured lower back and significant shoulder pain. He'd tried group fitness classes and other personal trainers before. Nothing had stuck, and nothing had solved the pain. He wanted to lose weight, feel better, and actually move without bracing for it.
From the start, Rob brought a warmth that made everyone around him feel welcome. He's the first to encourage a struggling training partner and the last to complain about a tough workout. The coaches love having him in the room.
The results have been hard to argue with. Rob has slimmed down considerably. He back squats 185 pounds for reps and incline bench presses 155 pounds, movements he once couldn't do without pain. His shoulder and back have responded to the progressive, joint-friendly approach at Alloy in a way nothing else he tried.
But ask anyone at the studio what Rob's best moment has been, and they'll probably tell you about the first pull-up. The look on his face when he got over that bar, that's the moment that says everything about why we do this work.
